Last August, I visited the special festival held against the 

backdrop of the summer night sea of ​​Ulleungdo, 'Ulurala Sea Pocha'!

I can't forget the moment when the fish market parking lot facing

 the sea was transformed into a food stall and showed off the charm of Ulleungdo.

I want to share the memories of that short but intense summer night,

As soon as we arrived at Ulleungdo, the thick scent of the sea 

and the rugged natural scenery were so refreshing. 

It seems to have a different charm from the leisurely 

city life we ​​are familiar with! This event was a festival

 where we could fully enjoy Ulleungdo's various seafood 

and enjoy the atmosphere of a summer night.

And I felt like the Ulleung County residents and tourists 

were truly united as one. I also captured the 

Ulleung Youth Group preparing for the event.

 

The venue was nicely prepared and the pretty 

lights were bright. As the sky gradually darkened, 

people came to the 'Ulurala Sea Pocha' one by one.

When we arrived at the Sea Pocha, 

the seafood spread out before our eyes was really fresh and diverse!

From fresh squid, mussels, and shrimp from Ulleungdo,

 it seemed as if all the treasures of the sea were gathered here.

In particular, the price was reasonable, 

so everyone could happily order food and eat the

 food cooked on the spot. Everyone sat around naturally and chatted 

with each other, and the Sea Pocha was filled with people's laughter.

In addition to seafood, there were also unique food trucks from Ulleungdo. 

The warmth of the Sea Pocha and the free atmosphere of the food truck 

were in harmony, so I was able to enjoy the delicious food and the atmosphere together.

Experience making conch candles and shell picture frames

The process of pouring candle wax into a shell and making

 my own sea scented candle was healing in itself. 

While the scented candle hardened, I looked out at the ocean. 

And I smelled its scent, and somehow my mind became calm.

I also had the experience of decorating my own picture 

frame with shells. I attached smoothly polished shells and 

small decorations to make my own picture frame containing 

my memories. Even though I will be back from my trip and 

a busy daily life awaits me, I think I will remember the smell 

of the sea and the lively scenery of the Sea Pocha 

that day whenever I see this small item.
